The Achensee – an emerald in the mountains

Just like a fjord, the Achensee lies in it's glacial bed. With its 6.8 km², the biggest mountain lake in Tyrol offers plenty of variety to enjoy your holiday to the most. Spends hours relaxing on its shores are paddling in its waves!

Thanks to the excellent water quality, you can see up to 10 metres below the surface - the water is so clear! It's clean too!

And not to forget how refreshing it is! On hot, summer days there's nothing better than a refreshing dip in one of the four lidos or try out the fun to be had at water sports. The ever present breeze makes the Achensee ideal for sailing and surfing.

Ot take a trip on one of the steamers of the Achensee Ship Company. Combine it too with a trip from Jenbach to the south shore pier on the historic steam train.
