Großglockner –take the summit by motorbike

For this trip into the mountains, start from the Sonnalp and head towards Zell am Ziller. The Gerlos alpine street is a toll road and takes you through the Pinzgau to Zell am See.

Be extra careful im Pinzgau: many speed restrictions and checks!

After Zell am See head in the direction of Fusch am Großglockner. Here go on to the Großglockner-Hochalpenstraße alpine road (toll road).

Coffee at the Tristacher lake

Plan in a detour to the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Heights – and be fascinated by the highest mountain and largest glacier in Austria: The view of the Großglockner and Pasterzen glacier will simply take your breath away.

After that you can head to Lienz. It's here you will find the beautiful lake Tristacher. Enjoy this natural gem with a cup of coffee on the shores of the lake.

On the way back you'll be steering you bike first towards Matrei and Felbertauern (toll road) to Mittersill. From there over the Gerlos pass and onwards back to Maurach.
