In the homeland of Andreas Hofer

Get your motorbike out of the garage for an excursion with historical importance!

From the Hotel Sonnalp the best thing to do is take the motorway to Innsbruck. From the regional capital of Tyrol follow the main road through the hairpin bends to the Brenner Pass. Be careful! It's a well known "racing track" ... and speed controls are common!

Sandwirt: Testiminy to Tyrolean history

Near Sterzing take a turn towards Jaufenpass. When you and machine have manged that, drive down and into the Passeiertal valley: home of the Tyrolean freedom-fighter Andreas Hofer. The house where he was born, the Sandwirt, is still standing. So step inside an inn of historical importance.

After that, innumerous curves and bends take you to the Timmelsjoch mountain pass (toll road). When you've enjoyed the views from around 2,500 metres, bring your excursion on two wheels to an end - returning to Maurach through Ötztal valley and Inntal.
